DeadGiant Wood Archer manages to produce so much with so little. Which is not to say that the tools the Archer uses are simple by any means. A rich narrative bleeds from every single off of To Pierce a Monarch. This is such a wonderful example of the strengths of lo-fi Dungeon Synth; the palpable themes and powerful atmosphere completely capture the imagination. Favorite track: Poisoning the Arrow.

Meatbreak In the artist’s own words, this project is one of true iconoclastic lo-fidelity dark ambient dungeon synth, and was recorded midi-free, in single takes; though even that extensive descriptor falls short of conveying the characterful narrative and nuanced details of this storied album. The track titles infer the course of a tale, and it is one played out with compelling marvel as the music unfolds. Favorite track: Duty of the Forest Watch.
